Monad is a high-performance, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain built on parallel execution and the MonadBFT consensus engine, developed by Monad Labs with ecosystem and developer work run by the Monad Foundation; mainnet went live on 24 November 2025. Its stablecoin relevance is direct: native Circle USDC and CCTP shipped on day one, the Monad Foundation acquired stablecoin payments infrastructure provider Portal in July 2025 and created a Head of Payments and Stablecoins role, and MetaMask's mUSD-denominated Money Account launched on Monad as its canonical chain in mid-2026.
